My Senior Story!
A Journey I won’t forget! ~ Aayan Rahman
About me!
How have I learned and grown throughout my time here?
Throughout high school, I’ve grown in ways I never imagined. I’ve learned how to navigate challenges, stay disciplined, and push beyond my comfort zone — both in academics and in my personal passions. One of the most defining parts of my journey has been playing the violin. I’ve been playing for eight years now, and while the road hasn’t always been smooth, it’s shaped who I am.
By far, the most impactful teacher I’ve had is Ms. Susan Kohanski. She didn’t just teach me how to improve my technique — she taught me how to believe in myself. She pushed me to practice harder, aim higher, and even join Chamber Orchestra. We had our moments, but she never gave up on me. Her guidance and encouragement helped me become not just a better violinist, but a more determined and resilient person.
At the same time, high school also deepened my love for computer science. I discovered how much I enjoy problem-solving and using logic to create something meaningful. That’s why I’m excited to pursue Computer Engineering or Computer Science in college — with a focus on cybersecurity or IT. I want to use technology to help others, especially people like my parents who sometimes struggle with the digital world.
I’m currently exploring schools like Central Connecticut State University, UMass Amherst, University of Rhode Island, and UConn. Each of these universities have some strong computer science and engineering programs that would help me grow not only as a student but as a future innovator. I’m looking forward to joining a community that challenges me, supports me, and prepares me to build a more secure and connected world.
